A rugby legend is the latest ambassador to be appointed for Clapham’s Pride House during the Olympics.
Rugby World Cup Winner Ben Cohen, MBE, has joined the impressive line-up of ambassadors for Pride House- the Olympic focal point for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
Located in the heart of Clapham Common, Pride House is set to be the centre point for creating awareness of homophobia in sport, whilst promoting equality and acceptance.
Mr Cohen, who already has an active involvement with anti-bullying programmes, said: “I am really proud to be involved in this innovative project and help Pride House promote tolerance and diversity.”
A total of 10 high-profile individuals, including comedian Stephen Fry and Elton John’s partner, David Furnish, have shown their support for Pride House, which is expecting around 250,000 visitors over 18 during the Games.
Chad Molleken, the Executive Director of Pride House London, voiced his enthusiasm at having the rugby star on board, saying: “Our ambassadors play a very important role in the project and we have an exceptional group of people working with us.”
