A lucky Tadworth schoolboy will walk out at Wembley Stadium next week as the England football team's mascot.
Ben McDougall, 10, will join the likes of Wayne Rooney, Joe Hart and Stephen Gerrard on the pitch before the national side take on Holland in a friendly match on Wednesday, February 29.
He won his chance after entering a national competition organised by McDonald’s, community partner of the Football Association.
He said: "I can’t wait for it. I love football so to walk out with the England players is unbelievable – and they’re playing Holland who’ve got loads of top players so it should be an amazing game too!"
Sir Geoff Hurst, McDonald’s director of football, said: "It is a great experience to be walking out on the pitch at Wembley stadium and one Ben will never forget, especially with such great players on display. Now we just have to hope that he brings the team luck and we get the right result!"
Ben has played football for seven years since reception class, first for his school team Tadworth Primary and now for Tadworth Youth under 11’s.
The right back was man of the match yesterday in a close 3-2 victory over Epsom and Ewell Colts.
His team are currently second in the league.
