A mother has appeared in court after another parent was allegedly 'cut to the skull' with a pair of scissors in front of horrified pupils at a primary school.

Serafina Elliot, 39, of St Matthew's Road, Brixton Hill, is accused of stabbing Nadine Walker, 40, in the head, Camberwell Green Magistrates Court heard today.

The incident at Fenstanton Primary School in Tulse Hill last Wednesday (February 22) sparked fear amongst parents, and forced headteacher Sally Hindle to write a letter of reassurance to the school community.

Dressed in a white t-shirt displaying a large leopard image and stonewashed jeans, Ms Elliot, who is unemployed, spoke only to confirm her name. She did not indicate a plea in relation to one charge of actual bodily harm.

District judge Tim Stone granted bail until an appearance at the same court in April.

He told Ms Elliot that she cannot go within 100 yards of Ms Walker or the school as part of her bail conditions.

He also imposed a section 39 order which prohibits the naming of children at the school who witnessed the incident, and their respective addresses.
