Kingston College and Carshalton College are proud to announce the launch of their exciting new Employment and Enterprise Zone (EEZ).

Principal Peter Mayhew-Smith, officially opened the Zone at both colleges and the events were well attended by a range of local organisations who will benefit from the services on offer and by working closely with the Employment and Enterprise Zone.

The brand new Employment and Enterprise Zone provides services which encourage people of all ages across South West London to access sustainable employment opportunities.

The Zone, which also celebrates and supports innovation and business start-ups, provides a one stop shop, no cost recruitment service with dedicated resources aimed at providing the skills required to both enter into employment and increase the economic productivity of local employers.

The Employment and Enterprise Zone (EEZ) brings together the key strengths of each college to deliver tailored packages of vocationally based training and work place skills that meet local economic demands. By working with employers, social enterprises and work related agencies EEZ can ensure that individuals receive training that is fit for purpose and enables them to enter into real employment. With the support of its partnership, EEZ provides real job related outcomes for its client groups. Additionally, EEZ supports employers to improve their own productivity and offers timely advice for those wishing to develop and grow their business.

Sarah Williams, Employment and Enterprise Zone Project Manager, Kingston Employer Services, said: “The Zone provides tailored programmes which can be delivered flexibly to meet the demands of the local economies. It benefits from being situated in two high performing, quality assured colleges and will be joining up the dots across South West London to deliver a comprehensive service which serves the needs of the local labour markets.”
