Three people have been jailed for more than 25 years for conspiring with deceased reggae star Smiley Culture to supply cocaine.

Ryan McCalla, his father LLoyd, and Carlene Wilson were sentenced for their role in a scheme the prosecution say was masterminded by the singer-real name David Emmanuel.

Ryan McCalla, 30, pleaded guilty to the charge at a hearing in December. He was today sentenced to nine years and three months in prison.

His father Lloyd, 51, and Carlene Wilson, 27, both pleaded not guilty to the charge but were found guilty by a jury at Croydon Crown Court on January 27.

[Lloyd] McCalla was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment and Carlene Wilson was jailed for four years and six months.

Her Honour Judge Heather Baucher also ordered for travel restrictions to be placed on both McCallas upon their release.

The restrictions will be in place for five years for Ryan McCalla and for three years for Lloyd.

Smiley Culture, real name David Emmanuel was on bail for conspiracy to supply cocaine when he stabbed himself through the heart during a drugs raid at his home in Warlingham, on March 15 last year.

The singer grew up in Brixton and went to Tulse Hill School.

His death caused outrage in the community and prompted a large-scale march from Wandsworth to Scotland Yard.
