A man has been jailed after breaching an Anti-Social Behaviour Order issued earlier that day.

Stephen Taylor, 42, of Thomas Avenue, Caterham, was issued with the ASBO at South Surrey Magistrates Court on March 16, preventing him entering pubs in Caterham-on-the-Hill, or loitering in their car parks or gardens.

At around 11pm that night Taylor was spotted in The Village Inn, Coulsdon Road and refused to leave. He was arrested and on March 19 and sentenced to six weeks in jail.

Tandridge Neighbourhood Specialist Officer, PC Andrew Simms, said: "As a neighbourhood officer who is actively out and about in the local community I could see how Taylor’s behaviour was having a significant impact on pubs in the area.

"I would like to thank all the Pubwatch members and others who came forward with information and helped secure an ASBO on Taylor.

"It demonstrates a united front against tackling anti-social behaviour in our area and how we will take robust action on anyone acting in such a way."
