Students taught about the value of becoming donors have signed up to become potential life-savers.
Croydon-based charity African and Caribbean Leukaemia Trust spent four days from March 20 to 23 raising awareness of the need for organ and bone-marrow donors at Croydon College, signing up more than 50 volunteers.
Co-founder of the charity, Beverley DeGale OBE, said: "This was a very good result and a response we can certainly build on.
"Students and tutors that were made aware of the urgent need came along to our registration desk in the front reception to find out more and to get signed up."
In total 77 potential bone marrow donors signed up while 61 agreed to also be blood and or organ donors.
