A mobile polling station has been unveiled to ensure Wandsworth residents will be able to vote in the London elections on May 3.
The vehicle includes three voting booths and can be used if a designated polling station is forced to close on voting day for the Mayor of London and the London Assembly.
The green bus normally transports local children with special needs to and from school and helps older residents to get around the borough.
To transform the bus for a day only takes a few minutes and costs nothing.
The Mayor of Wandsworth, Councillor Jane Cooper, said: "If a flood, fire or some other emergency strikes a polling station then these modified buses will spring into action.
"Ensuring residents can exercise their right to vote is a key responsibility for local councils and this is a great innovation from our local services team."
Residents who wish to vote but have not registered need to do so before April 18. To check whether you are registered call 020 8871 6023 or email electoral@wandsworth.gov.uk.
