A bridal shop in Cheam won best newcomer at an annual awards ceremony.

Aurora Bride won the award at the Bridal Buyer Awards on March 12.

Alison Sargeant, the owner of the shop on London Road said: “It was an amazing night; to be honest we were all a little overawed by the event there were over 600 people there from throughout the bridal industry - we were only table 42 of over 55.

“It is definitely a team award - I could not have achieved any of this success without the hard work of the whole Aurora Bride family, my fiancee and dad.

“The shop is named after, and the award is in honour of, my mother who passed away from breast cancer 8 years ago now- Aurora is the latin for her name Dawn.

“We are all so proud of such a big achievement - to be the best newcomer in the UK - beating some really great competition is honestly a little bit humbling.”
