Sainsbury's employees went the extra mile on Sunday by running a mile in Nonsuch Park for Sport Relief.
Staff members from the supermarket chain's store in Kiln Lane, Epsom, took part in the run.
Customers and Epsom residents also joined the 48 employees and made donations though buying merchandise on sale in the store.
One employee, James Bixley, also ran with Sainsbury’s chief executive, Justin King, on March 17. Mr Bixley was nominated by colleagues to take part in Mr King's Sport Relief Mile Challenge, which saw the supermarket boss run 32 miles around the country from March 14-17. One colleague from every Sainsbury’s store in the country joined him during his challenge.
Mr King said: "Our colleagues really do go the extra mile for Sport Relief so it was a pleasure to run with them.
"In 2010, our customers and colleagues from Sainsbury’s Kiln Lane helped us raise a massive £5.4 million for Sport Relief and with the great fundraising activities many of our stores already have planned, we’re hoping to go the extra mile to try and beat that target this year".
