Heavy traffic as road repaired following car fire
Drivers are being warned to avoid Wellesley Road if possible following a car fire yesterday.
Croydon Council are having to carry out emergency repairs to the road surface following the inferno, which took place at about 4.40pm yesterday in Park Lane.
The work has resulted in heavy traffic in central Croydon and motorists have been advised to find alternative routes if possible.
Nobody was injured in the car fire, which firefighters were able to extinguish after about 20 minutes.
