Families living in the top floors of a block of flats were evacuated this morning after a suspected arson attack.
Firefighters were called to the flats in Baltimore House, Juniper Drive, Wandsworth at 2.30am.
They spent an hour battling the blaze in the basement bins of the flat.
People living on the top floors of the flat were evacuating the building after being smoked out by fumes travelling up the air vents.
Nobody needed hospital treatment.
The fire comes after a spate of bin fires in Battersea in recent weeks.
A spokesman for the crew said: "Residents were evacuated on the seventh and eighth floors due to smoke being seen coming out of the vents.
"A lot of people were coming outside with their families, which was the right thing to do."
