Plans to build an office block boasting 100,000 square foot of space in Croydon town centre have been approved.
Work is set to being next month on the five storey building, on Dingwall Road, which will include pedestrian access to East Croydon station.
The proposal is being developed by Abstract Limited, part of Abstract Securities who have stated their intention to achieve BREEAM 2011 excellent environmental accreditation.
Abstract’s Development Director, Christopher McPherson, said: “Croydon Council has recognised that in order to retain existing occupiers and attract companies from Central London facing high rental costs for offices that could easily be located here, it is imperative that Croydon can offer high-quality ‘Grade A’ office accommodation at an achievable cost.
The company only brought the site in January this year.
A spokesman for the council said: “Obviously this is good news for the area and we look forward to seeing the building up and occupied as soon as possible.”
