Torchwood star John Barrowman has been announced as an extra special date in the Hampton Court Festival line-up.

The multi-talented performer has had hits on stage and screen, on both sides of the Atlantic, and has a greatest hits album out.

He also presented Tonight’s the Night for the BBC, toured the UK with a sell-out concert and wrote children’s book, Hollow Earth, which received great critical acclaim.

After the phenomenal success of four solo albums and accompanying tours, he returns to the concert stage during the Hampton Court Palace Festival for his only London appearance for 2012.

With a full band and dancers, John Barrowman will provide a spectacular finale to the festival’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

Barrowman said: “I’m thrilled to be performing my summer concert at the favourite palace of so many kings and queens. I hope you’ll come hold court with me for this special mid-summer celebration.”

The festival line-up now boasts some incredible stars, from Liza Minnelli and Katie Melua to Van Morrison and Jools Holland.
