A smart phone application that helps young people locate and rate local sexual health services has won the Sex Factor Ideas 2012 competition.

The interactive application put forward by volunteers at the Kingston Integrated Sexual Health forum (KISH) will also have a sexual health encyclopaedia, games such as guess the infection and an instant messaging service.

The application will be launched after the Olympics as part of NHS London’s sexual health legacy for the games.

Winners Alyss Robinson, 17, and Devika Chowdhury, 23, were presented with their award by Rugby World Cup winner, Ben Cohen, at City Hall on Friday, March 23.

They were joint winners with a group from Lambeth that put forward an interactive sexual health exhibition.

Tiffin Girls’ pupil Miss Robinson said: "Winning was really overwhelming and it just shows that if you have the right idea you can take it to the end."

More than 4000 young people were involved in creating sexual health concepts before the final seven were judged by a panel.
