Food connoisseurs hungry for something extraordinary were not left disappointed at a festival for ‘slow’ cuisine.
The event, in West Norwood on Saturday (March 31), celebrated dishes cooked from scratch.
The special one-day event included cook-offs, tasting sessions, fine dining and samples of delicacies from around the world.
BBC Great British Bakeoff chef Jason White was on hand to serve up his chocolate banana traybake, while diners in St Luke’s Church enjoyed a gourmet four-course meal.
Festival organiser, Sarah Coursey, said: “It is the first time the Mayor’s Outer London Fund has sponsored a slow food festival, showing the importance the capital’s government is placing not only on food as a generator of community-orientated activity, but also on healthy, organic and ideally locally produced food.”
