Croydon Champions is looking for a deserving charity to work alongside us in this year's campaign.

The charity plays a full part in the campaign, helping to discover the people and organisations making a real difference to our borough.

Last year's charity partner was Croydon Community Against Trafficking (CCAT) which campaigns against sex slavery.

The organisation's work has focused on exposing brothels which exploit women trafficked into the borough.

Once again our official mascot Hamish McFee- the west Highland terrier who was crowned Community Champion is 2010, is involved in the campaign.

The westie was nominated for a special award for his role as a Pets as Therapy dog, visiting elderly patients and stroke patients at Croydon's Mayday Hospital.

Hamish and his owners Barry and Margaret Crossby, have been staunch supporters of the Champions awards.

If your charity would like to be involved in this year's Croydon Champions campaign email newsdesk@croydonguardian.co.uk with details of who you are and why you would like to be involved.
