A new date has been set for the owners of the former Gala Bingo hall in Kingston to try to win approval for a 2,000-capacity licensed venue.
The original four-day licensing appeal hearing, at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court, was due to start today.
But a brief hearing agreed a new date for the appeal, to give time for residents to meet with the owners of the Kingston venue.
The appeal will now take place from October 1 to October 5.
The original plans for a Kingston Arena were thrown out by councillors on the licensing committee over crime and anti-social behaviour fears.
Applicants had originally asked for 24-hour drinking licence for drinking, dancing and music, later amended to midnight.
