A tumble dryer fire has seen two people treated for smoke inhalation.
Crews from Croydon Fire Station were called to Napier Road, South Norwood, at just after midnight this morning after a tumble dryer in a downstairs cupboard set alight.
The two crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent the rest of the property from damage.
A spokesman for the fire department, said: "The owners had put on a load at around 11pm and gone to bed.
"They woke to smell smoke.
"The dryer was an old model and being kept in a cupboard with no ventilation had over heated.
"Fortunately we were able to prevent the property sustaining further damage."
A London ambulance crew treated two people at the scene for smoke inhalation.
