A man from Carshalton who bought a yacht on ebay for £3,000 was stranded after crashing into rocks.
The owner, Sid Hashem, 62, and his son Mark, 37, were moving the £3,000 boat from one marina to another in Guernsey.
However, they crashed into rocks after just 400 yards into their journey in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The men made an emergency call to the coastguard however the lifeboat was unable to get near them.
They were eventually rescued by the local harbourmaster at about 2am but had to leave their boat stranded near the entrance to St Peter Port harbour.
The men were not injured and the yacht was towed back to the harbour yesterday.
