An outdoor performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream explored themes of magic at ACS Cobham International.

The school has an ongoing outdoor learning programme which allows students to learn outside a typical classroom environment.

Students performed the Shakespeare play in the school’s tepee, which gave them an opportunity to explore issues such as sustainability and healthy living.

They also helped design their own costumes from recycled fabrics and a percentage raised through ticket sales.

Drama teacher Amanda-Leigh Damms said: “All the students performed brilliantly and should feel very proud of all their hard work.

“Shakespeare can be daunting but performing his plays can help students to learn so much more about the themes and imagery used in his plays than they might from simply reading it, after all performance is the form in which Shakespeare intended us to enjoy his work.”
