Epsom and Ewell Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) has been awarded modern computers to help its work.

The CAB, based in the Old Town Hall on The Parade, Epsom, relies on donations to maintain its service and was in need of new computers.

Surrey County Councillor Eber Kington allocated £1,600 of his member’s allowance to CAB to provide it with modern PCs.

Tom Sheriff, bureau manager, said: "The new computers will replace very old and slow ones which were well beyond their sell-by date. This will help us to be more efficient and give a much better service to our clients".

Councillor Kington said: "I am delighted to support this important local charity. CAB are providing some very vulnerable local people with free, independent, and expert advice on such things as debt, employment and housing.

"It is vital that CAB has IT equipment which gives them fast, secure and reliable access to the latest on-line information."
