A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was left trapped in a car following a collision.
Firefighters from Woodside fire station were called to Clifton Road, Thornton Heath, at about 3.30am this morning.
Two cars were involved in the crash, but one vehicle had left the scene by the time emergency services arrived.
Crew members had to cut the man out of the fiat punto he was travelling in, but three other men who were also in the car escaped unharmed.
The man, who was complaining of neck pain was taken to Croydon University Hospital.
