Viewing area tickets for the Olympic cycling time trial race at Hampton Court Palace go on sale on May 29, London 2012 organiser Locog announced the date this week.

Prices will be £15 for adults and £5 for young people and senior citizens for the viewing area at Donkey Green.

The spectator area in Dormouse Drive costs £10 for adults and £5 for young people.

The race on August 1 will start and finish at the palace and pass through large parts of Elmbridge.

Viewing area tickets for the cycling road race at Box Hill will also go on sale on May 29.

Surrey Police warned people to buy tickets through official channels to avoid being ripped off.

Chief Superintendent Gavin Stephens said: “There are some people who will try to capitalise on the demand for tickets by selling fake tickets or setting up unofficial and potentially insecure websites and we want to make sure it is these people that miss out and not you.

“Equally, if you find that you can’t attend an event, there is an official process for selling on your unwanted tickets.

“You can return your ticket to get a refund through the London 2012 official ticket exchange. The ticket will then be officially resold.”
