A PCSO used Twitter to post about police dealing with a vulnerable person in Weybridge.
PCSO Gemma Hall tweeted about the incident on Thursday, May 10.
A police spokesman said: "Elmbridge neighbourhood officers attended Weybridge library in Church Street, Weybridge, shortly before 3pm on Thursday, May 10, following reports of a concern for safety.
"Members of staff reported that a man in his 40s had entered the building and was making inquiries about accommodation in the local area.
"Local officers spoke to the man and dropped him off at Elmbridge Council offices in Esher to register his inquiry.
"Twitter is being used more regularly by officers as a way to communicate their work to the public and provide a visible presence Surrey Police has its own app that officers can download to iPhones to tweet their movements and locations throughout their shifts."
