Two men who gunned down a dad-of-four following a row in a McDonald's queue have been jailed for a total of 50 years.

Devon Scarlett also known as Raymond Mitchell, from Thornton Heath, was killed last April following the row in the Brixton branch.

Horace Campbell, 28, and Liam O’Callaghan, 18, were convicted of his murder on Friday.

Mr Scarlett, 34, had spent the evening socialising with friends before visiting the 24-hour fast food restaurant.

The Old Bailey heard Campbell, of Tovil Close, Anerley, shot Mr Scarlett on a Brixton estate after the pair argued in McDonald's at around 6am.

After the argument Campbell called teenager O’Callaghan, of Tulse Hill, and told him to bring him a gun.

He then called Mr Scarlett into Marcus Garvey Way where he shot him four times.

His honour Judge Hawkins QC, told the pair they were equally responsible for the murder and "it mattered not who pulled the trigger".

Describing Campbell as a "strong and dominant personality", Judge Hawkins jailed him for life with a minimum term of 32 years.

The court heard O'Callaghan suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), but Judge Hawkins said in his view the condition was a "very limited mitigation".

O'Callaghan, who was 17, at the time of the offence, was jailed for life with a minimum of 18 years.
