An opening party on Friday marked the start of The Wandsworth Arts Festival.
Guests at the Southside Shopping Centre, in Swandon Way, were treated to a performance by poet Chris Paradox and talks from festival organisers.
The council-run festival features low key and highbrow art projects, with members of the public invited to share their own artistic talents.
Outdoor event The Shimmy will conclude the festival, featuring acts, stalls and exhibitions between Putney Bridge and Wandsworth Park on May 27.
Budding writers can take part in competitions, while a dance workshop takes place in Tooting Market on May 20.
Visit wandsworth.gov.uk/artsfestival for a full programme of events.
