Tenants in social housing can apply to represent their communities on the board responsible for the Lambeth's housing stock.

Lambeth Living residents in Norwood and Clapham are being invited to join the housing management organisation’s board of directors.

The company, which manages 34,000 properties in the borough on behalf of the council, is governed by a board of 16 directors made up of elected tenants, leaseholder representatives, independent directors and council nominees.

Successful applicants will serve a four year term and will be tasked with directing and controlling the company’s work.

Lambeth Living chairman Keith Hill said: “This is an exciting time to join the board. We have just embarked on a multi-million pound stock investment project.

“It is vital tenants’ and leaseholders’ priorities are represented by champions on our board.”

The position is voluntary although reasonable travel and out of pocket expenses, including child minding and care provision, will be reimbursed.

Board members, who will benefit from free training programmes, are also expected to attend evening meetings and committee meetings.
