A man who died of a stab wound in a Weybridge flat has been named by police as Czech Republic national Marcel Skyba.
Surrey Police launched a murder investigation after being called by the ambulance service to an address in Queen’s Road on Monday, April 16, where Mr Skyba was found.
Despite attempts to resuscitate the 43-year-old, his injuries were fatal and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A postmortem examination was carried out at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, which gave a preliminary cause of death as incised wounds to the heart.
A spokesman for Surrey Police said: “There have been delays in formally identifying the body due to the next of kin living abroad.
“Surrey Police are now satisfied that the deceased is 43-year-old Marcel Skyba, a chef who had been living in Queen’s Road, Weybridge.”
A 26-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident remains on police bail.
