Former Croydon schoolgirl facing jail in Dubai for taxi romp

A former Croydon schoolgirl is facing jail in Dubai for allegedly having sex in a taxi while she was drunk.

Rebecca Blake is accused of romping with Irishman Conor McRedmond while being driven from a bar following an all-day drinking session.

The outraged driver stopped the car after spotting the pair in his mirror and ran off to get police from a nearby patrol car.

When he returned with police the 29-year-old was said to be naked on the back seat, The Sun reports.

The pair were arrested and held in custody for five days, accused of having sex outside marriage and being drunk in a public place, both of which are criminal offences in the strict Islamic state.

Police are believed to have taken DNA samples to provide evidence the pair had sex and had been drinking.

Miss Blake, who is believed to have moved to Dubai last September after giving up her job at a recruitment consultancy in Fulham, faces up to three years in jail if the alleged sex offence is proven.

Miss Blake, who is currently free on bail after a friend paid her surety, denies she was arrested on suspicion of indecency and says she was alone in the cab.

She told The Sun: "It is all total bull****. I have no idea where these sex allegations have come from. I was arrested for having a bottle of beer in the back of a cab. That is all."

Mr McRedmond, 28, from Tullamore, Co Offaly, also denies the charges.
