A junior football club has been given a £5,000 grant to fund new teams for children and improve coaching.
Mitcham Park Juniors FC are to make six new teams ranging from U8s to U12s, including an U12 team solely for girls.
Alongside the teams, 12 members of staff, three of which are women, will receive their FA level one coaching award.
Brendan Sullivan, club secretary, praised the funding from Football Foundation, the country’s largest sports charity, which gave the money.
He said: “This grant will enable us to make positive steps with promoting healthy living and supporting team work, while developing future world-class footballers.”
