A possible front runner has emerged in the race to buy Battersea Power Station, according to reports in the Sunday Times.

London Riverside Development Corp, backed by billionaire brothers David and Simon Reuben, is understood to be bidding for the 39-acre site.

The company, whose investors include Godfrey Bradman, one of the developers of Broadgate in the City, is believed to have made the highest bid for the Battersea site of more than £330m the paper said.

An informal shortlist also includes Chelsea Football Club Ltd and Malaysia’s SP Setia who have also registered formal interest.

Apart from Chelsea, who announced their bid earlier this month, all parties declined to comment.
