Police were left red-faced after they pulled over Prince Harry with a mystery blonde on his motorbike on Putney Bridge.

The royal rider was allegedly taking the girl for a romantic picnic under the stars when traffic cops stopped him.

After realising they were questioning the third-in-line to the throne, the officers waved him on as he had not committed any offence.

The bike-mad prince, 27, was said to be taking the girl for a spin on his 160mph Ducati 848 when he was stopped.

It is understood Harry's minders stepped in when officers asked him to remove his helmet and he replied, "I'd rather not".

The incident is understood to have taken place last month but Wandsworth is rapidly becoming the best place to spot the roaming prince.

Earlier this year he was spotted smooching with The Saturday's singer Mollie Ming outside Bunga Bunga bar in Battersea.

Last November he came to the aid of his friend Thomas van Straubenzee who had allegedly been mugged on Albert Bridge Road, also in Battersea.
