The town centre will host the second Rathayatra Street Festival tomorrow.
The East Indian festival, which dates back to over 5,000 years, is believed to be the world's oldest street festival.
Following the success of last year's festival which was attended by over 900 people, organisers the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and Croydon Bid are hosting the event again.
The Croydon Rathayatra festival is free of charge and will start with a procession on Croydon High Street, which will involve pulling Lord Jagannath (a form of the Indian God, Lord Krishna) on a beautifully decorated wooden cart.
This is accompanied with a live band and followers singing and dancing along.
It begins at 12pm tomorrow outside opposite Marks and Spencer in North end. The procession will move down the street towards the Whitgift Centre, where there will be traditional Indian dancing and music.
The procession moves to Park Hill Recreation Grounds where there will be more performances, henna, face painting and free food.
