Two paratriathlon champions are encouraging families to sign up for a charity sports event in Crystal Palace.

Athletes Jane Egan and Steve Judge will be taking part in Tri Together at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on August 19.

The competition, which involves swimming, cycling and running, is open to individuals and relay teams.

Ms Egan, who took up the sport three years ago after she was diagnosed with a neurological disorder and became confined to a wheelchair, will be competing.

She said: “I am really excited about taking part in this year’s event.

"As well as having fun and challenging yourself, people who enter will be raising money to help Leonard Cheshire Disability to continue supporting thousands of disabled people across the UK.”

A junior race for children aged 13 to 16 is also on offer.
