Members of a disabled golf group took to the links last Friday.

The Disabled Golf Society, which includes amputees, stroke survivors, those with learning difficulties and the partially sighted, played a game at Horton Park Golf Club in Hook Road.

Graeme Robertson, national events coordinator, said: "Most of our members are golfers who have had an accident or been diagnosed with a condition and we are giving them an opportunity to put life back in perspective, feel the freedom of acceptance, and get their life back on track, despite their disability.

"It shows the power of human mind to overcome adversity and encourages other disabled people to return to or start playing golf with all the therapeutic value that can bring."

Mr Robertson, who has MS, said he thought his golfing days were behind him as he can no longer walk but loves being back on the golf course.
