A seven-year-old is the envy of his classroom after voicing a character in the new Ice Age 4 film.

Oliver Williams, a pupil at Oakwood School, won a competition in 2011 which not only got him a line in the film but also a week away in Hollywood with his family.

The Ice Age fanatic played the part of a small turtle and had to say, "Night Ellie," as well as various background noises.

Oliver’s mum, Liz Williams, admitted she had no idea her son had entered the competition after he picked up an entry form whilst shopping in Croydon in April 2011.

It was only when she received emails saying Oliver had made it through to the next round that she realized he had a chance of winning the prize.

After being told he won, the family jetted off to Hollywood in April this year before Oliver went to record his lines in Uxbridge.

Oliver, his mum Liz, Dominic his dad and his younger brother and sister Issac and Ellie all went to see the film premier on Saturday.

Oliver said: "I was really happy to win as Ice Age is one of my favourite films. When I found out, me, my sister and my brother all played the Ice Age game where we pretended to be in the film.

"I liked going to Hollywood as we had a really big swimming pool in our hotel.

He said: "On Saturday we went to see the film and it was a little embarrassing to hear my voice in it.

"We got lots of free food as well and I enjoyed having the biscuits, marshmellows and muffins.

"My friends couldn’t believe it."

Mrs Williams said: "You could hear his voice so clearly as the little turtle.

"We all waited to the end to see the credits and when his name came up I shouted ‘that is my son’, which embarrassed him quite a lot.

"I would always react the same way though."
