A police helicopter and dog search of the Streatham Park area lead to the arrest of a man on Sunday evening.
The man was arrested 7.55pm in Riggindale Road after he failed to stop his car for police officers.
A Wandsworth police spokeswoman said: "He made off and then he dumped a vehicle."
Police dogs and the helicopter were called in to find the suspect, who has not yet been charged, the spokeswoman added.
