Sporting a style of music dubbed as Bleggae for its fusion of Blues and Reggae, band Jamside up have won the chance to perform in front of thousands at the Crystal Palace Peace Concert.

Performing at the Crystal Palace battle of the bands on Wednesday July 18, the band, led by guitarist, songwriter and front man Tim Hain wowed fans and judges alike to take the title and a place in the Peace Concert Line-up.

The success will see them feature on the same programme as rapper Chipmunk, BBC DJ Charlie Sloth and up and coming pop star Hatty Keane, at the September 1 festival organised to promote community strength following last year’s riots.

Hain says: "All the performances I've done to date have been like a paid rehearsal. "It's now time to share this music with a wider audience. Nonetheless, every show is huge fun, and a learning experience. "As a performer I don’t believe you ever stop learning. Above all I have learned Of the power Of music to touch people and lift them above the apparent darkness in the world...to address the great amnesia of what a gift Life is. "And this to me is what this wonderful event, the Crystal Palace Peace Concert, is all about."
