Four men accused of gunning down a young couple in their home have denied murder.

Jordan Jackson, 20 and Leyla Djema-Northcott, 21, were shot in their Upper Norwood home on March 7, 2006.

The shooting took place at about 6.40am as Miss Djema-Northcott lay in her bed and Mr Jackson walked in the hallway of their house in Menlo Gardens.

The couple, who had been together for five years, had started living together just before Christmas 2005.

Michael Ennis-Simpson, 25 from Brixton, Shaun Sutton, 36 from South Norwood, Leon Russell, 28 of no fixed abode and Lee Russell, 28 from Brixton, are accused of murdering the couple.

The four are also charged with the attempted murder of Mr Jackson's brother Kieran, who was also shot during the attack.

They will stand trial at Woolwich Crown Court on November 13.
