A paedophile has admitted sexually abusing girls, some as young as 13, after grooming them over the internet.

Glen Wilson, 25, pleaded guilty to 17 sexual offences at Croydon Crown Court on July 27. Wilson, of Robertsbridge Road, Carshalton, confessed to the offences when quizzed by police.

The telecoms engineer even boasted he had committed further sexual offences which he has asked police to investigate.

Between July 2009 and December 2011 Wilson made contact with 20 girls aged between 13 and 15 via the internet.

He would then try and arrange meetings with the girls where he would take advantage of some of them.

Wilson pleaded guilty to 10 charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, six charges of meeting a child following sexual grooming.

He boasted of six other incidents of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity as well a further meeting with a child following sexual grooming. Wilson was remanded in custody and will be sentenced in September.

Detective sergeant Dave Adams, of Sutton CID, said the victims lived in London and the Home Counties and one of the victims was from Sutton.

He said: "There were 20 child victims who Wilson initially contacted on the internet. It is important that parents and guardians are aware of the advice available to adults and children so they stay safe and have fun on the internet."
