Shoppers braved the damp weather to turn out on Sunday to visit Herne Hill Market.

The market, which started last month and is located just outside the station, had a variety of stalls as well as goats and sheep for children to pet.

Food on sale included sausages, handmade chocolate and sourdough bread alongside other items like coffee roasters and hand carved lettering.

Harry Niazi, chairman of Herne Hill traders, said there was a good crowd despite the rain as the market was gaining popularity.

Mr Niazi said: "For a Sunday morning it’s very, very pleasant. There is something for everybody."

He added: "With the Herne Hill Forum and through shopkeepers and local residents it has snowballed."

The market runs every Sunday between 10am and 4pm.
