A shop owner who sold his shop after the riots said he is still mentally affected a year on.
Binu Mathew, 42, who owned Wibi Stores, said he still gets upset when thinks about his shop and what happened to him during the riots.
Mr Mathew and his wife were attacked in his store by rioters and then again later on in the evening when he was in his van.
He said: "The police have kept me updated over the year about those who attacked me. One thing I want to come out of this a year on is that it can never happen again.
"Ultimately I lost everything because of the riots. I lost my business, I lost my job and now I am looking for a job. It is difficult.
"I am trying to come back to my normal life, physically I am not ok and mentally I am still not ok. I haven’t received any compensation yet either.
"I am still very depressed as I am not able to find a suitable job now. It is hard to find a job now. I left a good job to start my business, now I am looking for one again."
