A TV sitcom airing this week was partly filmed in Carshalton.
Just Around The Corner, starring much-loved TV veteran James Bolam, will air on Channel 4 on Thursday (August 23), and contains scenes filmed in Culvers Avenue.
Location manager for the show Harriet Lawrence said she had chosen the area because she had good experiences filming in Sutton for the first series of PhoneShop.
She said: "When I was given the script it included scenes where we needed to control the traffic. I needed a film-friendly borough which was happy to help even during the Olympics."
Everyone we dealt with at Sutton was fantastic, the neighbours were great and the Riverside Centre, which is based on the road, really helped out."
Councillor Jayne McCoy, chairman of the council's housing, economy and business committee, said: "While it is fun to see the borough used in TV and film, it also a boost for local businesses and a useful source of income."
The comedy, which will be shown at 10.35pm, focuses on suburban family, the Pilches, who live in a flooded, warm and uncertain world where all the banks have disappeared, along with much of Britain's coastline.
