Workers from Mondial prepare flower beds and vegetable plots
A team of 30 volunteers from an insurance firm have helped transform a primary school garden.
Workers with Mondial Assitance UK were at Woodcote Primary School in Coulsdon last week clearing the pond, building vegetable beds and creating a bug hotel to make an outdoor learning space for students.
Head teacher Tim Rome said: "The garden is looking great and it will soon be the perfect place for students to study in a peaceful and relaxed environment.
"Our school has undergone some extensive building work recently with the merging of two schools into one, and we wanted to make sure that the gardens, which were a bit under developed, were transformed in readiness for the students returning in September.
"The volunteers from Mondial Assistance did a fantastic job in helping us to clear things up; we now have the foundations of a great outdoor learning area and we couldn’t have done it without them."
