Bomb disposal experts have left the house of murdered Saad Al-Hilli in Oaken Lane, Claygate.
After a tense morning, which saw neighbours' homes evacuated and the cordon around the house extended, disposal experts left the scene minutes ago.
Armed guards remain at the house, but people caught outside the cordon have now been allowed to return to their homes.
Helictopters circled above the house, which had become a focal point for the French investigation into the triple murder of Saad Al-Hilli, his wife Iqgbal and her mother.
Four-year-old Zeena Al-Hilli, who spent eight hours hiding under her mother's body, was the only family member to come away from the shooting unharmed. She has returned to the UK with family members, a social worker and a police liaison officer.
Police had been searching the Claygate home for a third day this morning when items discovered caused concern.
Army bomb disposal experts arrived at 10am and spent about two hours examining the items and after several meetings left at about 12.15pm.
