The weird and wonderful secrets of Crystal Palace are to be uprooted from their home and taken out on the road.

Crystal Palace Museum has pulled together information from the wise heads who work there to create more than a dozen specific talks for groups, organisations and schools keen to learn more about the area.

From the Curious Story of the Lost Railway to Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Crystal Palace Fire Mystery, it is promised the talks are fun and informal and stuffed with intrigue alongside factual information.

Barrie McKay, who works at the library, said: “Our one-hour talks provide an additional way of telling the history as well as the various strange but true incidents about the Crystal Palace to many in the community and also to those further afield.”

Is there a grisly carriage, full of long forgotten passengers, stuck in rail tunnels beneath the old Crystal Palace site? What did archaeological digs conducted almost 40 years ago discover in these tunnels? Find out about this and much more by calling in the museum team.

Groups interested in having this or any of the museum’s illustrated talk call the museum on 020 8676 0700 or email info@crystalpalacemuseum.org.uk.
