West Croydon Carnival of Cultures takes place next Sunday West Croydon Carnival of Cultures takes place next Sunday

The first West Croydon Carnival of Cultures will take place next Sunday.

The carnival is a community event which aims to showcase the work of businesses and residents in West Croydon, following last summer's riots.

The event, which is being held between 11am and 5pm, will celebrate the different cultures within Croydon.

Road closures will be in place from London Road at the junction with Oakfield Road to Sumner Road.

Activities include a carnival parade, steel bands, children's entertainment, fairground rides and arts and crafts.

There are numerous opportunities to get involved with the carnival, whether you wish to run a stall or wish to showcase your talents on stage.

From Monday, there will be a festival week of events in and around London Road. Special festival offers from shops and businesses will be available to shoppers.
