A record launch event in aid of Alzheimer's Society raised £800 for the charity.

Rapper Ryan Matthews-Robinson, who lives in south Croydon, collaborated with his granddad Robbie 'King Robinson' on a new record, and was inspired to donate half the proceeds to the charity after seeing first hand the effect of the disease.

The fundraising event in Brixton on September 10, marked the release of the EP which is available in digital stores, and was attended by Mayor of Lambeth Clive Bennett.

Ryan, 24, who performs under the name Ragz-CV, organised the launch with his friend Junior Booker.

Recalling the event he said: "The night couldn't have gone any better.

"I did this event to raise extra funds for people who suffer with Alzheimer's like my nan, but I couldn't have imagined it going to so well.

"I have to say a bit thank you to my family, girlfriend and friends for all their support."
