Teenagers working through a charity dedicated to supporting the elderly have hosted a tea party for older people in the community.

The children, who are part of The Challenge Network, working with Contact The Elderly, held the event on Sunday September 9 at the Selsdon Centre, Addington Road.

Young and old partnered up for the afternoon while the teenagers also served tea and sandwiches.

Andrew Luton, assistant programme manager at The Challenge Network, said: "There have been hundreds of young people across London voluntarily taking part in The Challenge this summer.

"Contact the Elderly is one of many different charitable organisations that our young people are working with to help make a difference in their local communities."
